Would you like to give a deeper understanding of your culture and Germany in general to young students?

Join our Freshman Family Partner Program and get to know our team as well as our international students!

The Freshman Program offers the opportunity to everyone who is interested in getting to know other cultures and making new friends.

Anyone who is interested in other cultures and who would like to share his/her own culture and Germany with our young academics can become a member of our Family Partner Program.

The students in this program are about 18 year old and are attending a one-year preparatory program at the Freshman Program in preparation for their future studies at universities in North-Rhine Westphalia. They come from many different countries, such as China, India, Indonesia, Iran Turkey or Vietnam.

It is our goal that the students get off to a good start in Germany, make new friends and experience intercultural exchange.

We do not expect a financial contribution from our new members. It’s rather a matter of spending time with the students, enjoying fun activities together, such as cooking together, playing cards, tutoring or planning trips together.  

During the Freshman Year you will have a number of opportunities to meet other members of the program and to meet new students at different Freshman Program events.

The members decide themselves how much time they are willing to invest in this program. Usually the members support and accompany the students for a year until the students start their studies at the universities. Some of these friendships last for many years and the students become part of the family.
