With the Bachelor's study programme in Ophthalmic Optics and Optometry, you have a professional future ahead of you that is rich in variety. The primary objective of this dual study programme is to prepare you for research and development in the fields of (ophthalmic) optics, optometry and ophthalmology.

Along the way, however, you can also work on new techniques related to the examination of various visual functions, not only in industry, but also in clinics and ophthalmic practices. A career as a vocational school teacher is also possible.

The master craftsperson's examination before the Chamber of Crafts also entitles you to set up and run a specialist optician's shop or to work there as an employee. The internationally recognised Bachelor's degree also gives you the option of working abroad as an optometrist.

The current situation on the labour market within the optometry trade gives you additional security of obtaining permanent employment: Currently, the industry's unemployment rate in Germany is below one per cent.
