Internationally Oriented Studies (IOS) is an international engineering program designed to offer German and international students the unique opportunity to study in Germany. German students study with students from a variety of cultures.
The language of instruction in the IOS Bachelor's programs will be German starting in the first semester. Some tutorials may taught in other languages, including, but not necessarily limited to, English. Therefore, all applicants except those with a German Abitur or Fachhochschulreife must submit a B2 level German language certificate, such as DSH-1 or Test DaF 4x3. We cannot make any exceptions to this requirement. We will no longer be offering the programs in which the first year is taught in English.
The standard length of the complete Bachelor's program is 6 semesters (3 years), however, some students may need an additional semester to complete their degree. Some international students may need longer due to cultural adjustments to Germany and the German university system.
The IOS program is open to German and international applicants.
The next program starts in September 2013.
1 July for non-European Union members.
15 July for German citizens and European Union members.
Students from all African countries, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan should send completed applications with all properly notarized documents by 15 May to increase your chances of getting a visa on time.
We do not admit new IOS students to start in the summer semester.
