Mechatronics

The branch Mechatronic

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary area of engineering, based on mechanical engineering, electronics and data processing. A typical mechatronic system receives signals through sensors, elaborates them, gives signals out, everything done with components, e.g. to set strengths and movement.

Mechatronics is the new technology of the future. In many engineering areas a lot of changes are taking place nowadays. The classical methods and working ways of mechanical engineering and electronics are increasingly influenced today. Numerous technical problems can be solved, to some extent, through inter-disciplinary activities.

To be able to cope with the multiple future's challenges, the traditional engineering working ways need to be replaced before entering the new technological aera. This process is called mechatronics.

The mechatronics technology assembles together the traditional disciplines mechanical engineering, electronics and data processing. They include inter-disciplinary work and thoughts. Mechatronics delivers the synergy effect for solutions to more and more complicated tasks.

The mechatronic systems collects independent information, evaluate them and - reveal a flexible programmed logic - which allows to carry on with the needed steps. The required sensors, (e.g. for temperature, pressure, intervals) corresponding to human senses, such as the brain's signals elaboration and other parts, such as limbs, nerves and muscles. The relation between the components in mechatronics systems follows the individual wishes.

Mechatronics is next century's technological innovation, with considerable growth potential and will offer numerous new jobs in the near future. Die mechatronics systems will change the worldwide markets. Its development has dynamically reached a global size. At the same time, the miniaturisation has opened up new possibilities, options and discoveries for the research industry.

We would be glad to see you, if you were to become one of our mechatronics students starting in autumn. Enrolment takes place at the FB 8 - Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics.
