The Degree Programme

Degree Programme Profile

Our course of study is designed in such a manner that you will receive an education that is appropriate in terms of depth and duration in all important areas of modern chemistry. In addition to the fundamentals of inorganic, organic, physical and technical chemistry, analytical methods, biochemistry, nuclear chemistry as well as polymer and plastics technology are taught. Depending on the student's preferences, a specialisation is possible in electives. Learning and practising practical manual skills in our state-of-the-art laboratories play a central role here. Thereby, the acquired knowledge and skills will form a good basis for successfully meeting the requirements of day-to-day professional life. Especially in the higher semesters, you will get the opportunity to conduct practical lab work in groups as well and to prepare yourselves, together, for the requirements of day-to-day professional life in project-like practical trainings: planning and working towards a common goal, building up a team in order to achieve the objective, and finally presenting and delivering written reports that have been produced together. At the same time, the fun factor should not be neglected either.

You have the option of choosing this degree programme with or without a practical semester. The practical semester can take place abroad.

The possible combination of the thesis abroad and the resulting longer stay can also provide you with a better understanding of the culture of the respective country. The implementation of application-oriented projects in the industry will allow you to get to know your potential future employer, and more importantly, he or she will get to know you!

Due to our 40 years of experience in the field of training, we are convinced that we can provide you with qualified training for the industry or your future employer under good conditions. You will be supervised by a dedicated team of teaching staff. In addition to imparting knowledge and practical activities, your well-being and contentment are also important to us.
