Orientation Days for First Semester Students

Here the program for first semester students (Example WS 2019/2020)

The preliminary mathematics course takes place as a two-week block course

The preliminary course is an event for all first-year students of the department "Aerospace Engineering". During the preliminary course, topics of school mathematics are repeated and refreshed and basic mathematical topics are taught. Thus the preliminary course builds a bridge between school mathematics and university mathematics. In addition, it offers students the opportunity to get to know the university, lecturers and fellow students in advance.

In the mornings there will be a large group of lectures and exercises on the various topics. In the afternoons, tutorials are offered where the subject matter can be deepened in smaller groups.

The morning courses take place in two separate groups, depending on the field of study:

"Aerospace Engineering" resp. "Flight Operations Technology with Commercial Pilot License"
Location: Room GOE O1301 (Goethestraße 1, 52064 Aachen)
Time: 08:30
Exception: 1. Day: 08:30 Uhr in Room HOH O1101 (Hohenstaufenallee 6, 52064 Aachen)

"Vehicle and Drive Technology"
Location: Room HOH O0201 (Hohenstaufenallee 6, 52064 Aachen)
Time: 08:45

The tutorials will probably take place in the afternoon from 13:00 to 14:30. More detailed information will be announced during the event.

The online bridge course OMB+ will also help you to prepare for our study courses.(www.ombplus.de/ombplus/public/).

The course "Mathematical Basics for Engineering Sciences" takes place as a block from 19.10. to 30.10.2020

The course "Mathematical Basics for Engineering", MGI for short, is an advanced course which serves as a basis for later modules in the study program. The contents from MGI are required in the module "Mathematics 1", as well as passing the exam at the end of the course. Participation in the course is voluntary, whereas the exam is compulsory. For self-assessment, you will receive some sample tasks with solutions to topics that you will be taught in the preliminary course and whose knowledge is required in the exam "Mathematical Basics" and later in the module "Mathematics 1".

It is not necessary to register for the courses!
