You are responsible yourself for arriving in time for an exam. Even if you arrive late for an exam due to bad weather or delays in public transport, the elapsed examination time is to your detriment. The invigilator in the exam venue will neither grant you an extension of your working time nor will we annulate your examination registration.

Mobile phones, smart watches, internet-enabled watches etc

A mobile phone, a smart watch or a watch connected to a smartphone don't count among the permitted materials during exminations. The use of them is strictly prohibited. Next to acutally comitted cheatings, the examination law speaks of attempted cheatings. This means that bringing your smartphone with you can be regarded as attempted cheating. Therefore, we urgently request all participants in an exam: Leave your smartphones etc. at home.

If you cannot do without your smartphone for example make at least sure that the device is switched off (flight or silent mode is not sufficient as some smartphone give an acoustic signal despite set to "silent mode"). By no means carry the smartphone with yourself, but leave in your bag and put the bag far from you in the examination room.

Everyone carrying a smartphone must make sure that nobody is disturbed by sudden acoustic signals. The examination board will not draw any consequences from a ringing smartphone no matter how long it is (no failed attempt for the smartphone owner nor improvement attempt or non-assessment for the other participants of the examination in question).

If a student disturbs the proper conduct of an exam by talking loudly or any other unacceptable behaviour he or she can be excluded from continuing the exam after being admonished by the invigilator. In this case, the exam/course achievement will be marked as “non-sufficient”.
