Prof. Hartung's course offering includes courses in bachelor and master programs in computer science (CS), electrical engineering (EE), and communication & multimedia design (CMD).This includes the following courses:
Frank Hartung studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen/Germany and NTH Trondheim/Norway and received a Dipl.-Ing. (equivalent to M.Sc.) degree in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen. He further received a Dr.-Ing. (equivalent to Ph.D.) degree in electrical engineering from University of Erlangen. Topic of his dissertation was video watermarking, and his publications were among the very first in that area. From 1999 to 2011, Dr. Hartung worked as senior specialist and team leader of the Multimedia Technologies Research group with Ericsson Research, Herzogenrath, Germany. In 2008, he spent 6 months at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, USA, as visiting research scholar. Since 2011, he is Professor of Multimedia Technology with FH Aachen, Germany. Dr. Hartung is a member of IEEE and VDE. In 2001/2002, he was chair of the German IEEE Signal Processing Society chapter. Dr. Hartung is author of more than 50 publications, and co-inventor of 7 granted and more than 20 pending patents. He also authored a large number of standards contributions in standards bodies including OMA, OIPF, 3GPP, and IETF. His current research interests include multimedia transmission over IP based networks, 3D video signal processing, image processing, software defined video networking, multimedia security, and car IT security.
