On Saturday, 9 February 2019, within the framework of FH Aachen – Open Campus Day (HIT), the ten faculties of the FH Aachen will present themselves for the 13th time. Seventy-two exhibits will be on display in our two buildings at Eupener Straße 70. Four exhibits will be showcased in front of Building 1 and in the parking area at Eupener Straße 70: the large size model of the glider DG 500 of the FAG Aachen e.V., the Aero.Race Lab and Aixtreme Racing of the FH Aachen Formula Student Teams which are part of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering as well as the FabBus of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics.
Whether it's Architecture, Civil Engineering, Chemistry and Biotechnology, Design, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Business Studies, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, Medical Engineering and Technomathematics, or Energy Technology – from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., pupils, parents, teachers as well as other interested parties will have the opportunity to get information on the attractive and future-oriented range of studies offered at the Aachen and Jülich locations as well as comprehensive consulting and information services on the requirements, contents, and career prospects of our degree programmes. To this end, there will be lectures, various information stands as well as exhibitions.
The perspectives for FH graduates are excellent. On a scale of up to 70 per cent, German engineering education, held in high repute all over the world, takes place at universities of applied sciences. "Employers really appreciate the application-oriented studies of our graduates as they become full-fledged employees after just a short settling-in period", Prof. Dr. Marcus Baumann, Rector of the FH Aachen says, emphasising the outstanding career opportunities of FH graduates. It is, therefore, a worthwhile endeavour for all prospective students to direct their attention to the broad, practice-oriented range of degree programmes at the FH Aachen on Open Campus Day (HIT).Particularly for our female graduates, engineering professions open up excellent employment opportunities. Especially girls and women should, therefore, get enthusiastic about technical degree programmes.
Those who want to combine their job with a course of study are offered twelve attractive dual Bachelor's study programmes at the FH Aachen: Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics and Informatics (Scientific Programming), Ophthalmic Optics and Optometry, Civil Engineering – Network Engineer, Civil Engineering Praxis PLuS, Dual Engineering Education Mechatronics (DiMech), Dual Engineering Education Rail Vehicle Technology (DiRail), Electrical Engineering PLuS, Flight Operations Engineering with Airline Pilot Training, Mechanical Engineering PLuS, Physiotherapy, and Business Law Praxis PLuS. "Anyone who decides to pursue a dual study programme gets university training at the highest level, linked to solid vocational training, resulting in two degrees – in record time", says Prof. Dr. Josef Rosenkranz, Vice Rector for Studies and Teaching at the FH Aachen. Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Rail Vehicle Technology are also offered as part-time degree programmes, Teacher at a Vocational College (Berufskolleg) as a cooperative degree programme.
From 10 a.m. to 3:50 p.m., there will be lectures on the degree programmes in both buildings at Eupener Straße 70. Additionally, the university library will open its doors in Building 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with guided tours at every full hour.
We'll also make sure you don't go hungry: The Mensa (Dining Hall) in Building 1, 1st Floor, at Eupener Straße will be open all day.
