Experience Abroad
A semester or two abroad is no longer an exception. About 20% of the FH Aachen graduates have experience abroad during their studies. In addition to the the knowledge gained at the partner university or during the internship, as well as their personal experience, students gain intercultural competence, build relationships and increase their language skills. International experience is a bonus when applying for employment in private industry, especially in large corporations,
Your Options
During a semester abroad, students usually spend one or two semesters at a university abroad.
You can either participate in an exchange program with a partner university of the FH Aachen or apply as a Freemover at a university of your choice.
The advantages of an exchange program are
- simplified admission requirements
- no tuition fees at the partner university
- application to the partner university through the Department of International Affairs or a contact person in your faculty.
In many fields of study it is possible to substitute an integrated internship semester with a study semester abroad.
