The Data Processing Centre provides employees and students of the FH Aachen with various communications services. For example, every member gets an e-mail address which is utilised for studies-relevant communication. On the following pages, you will find helpful information and instructions for this and other ways of communication.
The Online-Ticketsystem provides all FH Aachen members with the opportunity to submit enquiries and notices of malfunction. Moreover, you can request the current state of processing at any time and will receive an answer-back from us after services have been completed.
The FH Aachen provides all members of the FH Aachen with a Jabber server. As a result of this, university members are provided with a simple and quick means of communication. Text messages or data files can be sent with help of the messenger protocol. Moreover, the Jabber server provides the option of holding a videoconference with another person.
Adobe Acrobat Connect enables students to hold a virtual meeting. For this, merely a PC with internet access is needed. If you've got a webcam and a headset, you can hold a videoconference as well.
With the DFNconf service, the DFN-Verein offers its users in the scientific community the opportunity to hold video, audio and web conferences. Up to 23 clients can participate in a conference. Participation can be via web browser, app (iOS, Android), telephone or video conferencing system.
The student forum is an exchange platform for students of the FH Aachen. Here you can have discussions with other students and exchange data.
The forum is not provided by the Data Processing Centre, it's operated by the FH Aachen student body.
Mailman is the distributing system for e-mails to different FH user groups. Messages can be sent to lists, e.g. to all students or all employees. They are checked by a designated moderator beforehand, though, in order to prevent misuse.
