You've already studied at a university and would like to continue your course of study at the FH Aachen? You can do this via the online application "Hochschulwechsel" (Change of University), but only if you can be admitted for a higher "Fachsemester" (semester of this particular degree programme) on the basis of recognised examination results. In addition to the application for the admission to a higher "Fachsemester", please also enclose a confirmation of the required semester classification from the examination board of the respective faculty of the FH Aachen.
Students who, up until now, have been registered for a degree programme at a university for applied sciences and wish to continue their studies of the same degree programme at the FH Aachen, will be accepted, with a crediting of previous study periods.
When changing universities for a Bachelor's degree programme with a foreign university entrance qualification, you have to pre-check at the "uni-assist" portal whether your foreign certificates are in accordance with the stipulations of the "Kultusministerkonferenz (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen (ZaB)" (Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in Germany, Central Office for Foreign Education) and are deemed sufficient for the admission to a university in Germany. The deadlines for the submission of application documents at uni-assist are March 5 (for the summer semester), and September 5 (for the winter semester).
Please keep in mind that some degree programmes will be admission-restricted in higher semesters; the decision which degree programmes will get a restriction on admission, will be made mid-July.
When applying for an admission-restricted degree programme, this means that there's a possibilty that not all applicants can be offered a place at university.

For the winter semester 2017/18, the application deadline for a course of study in a higher "Fachsemester" ends
At the end of the online form, you have to print out an application with notes which explain the next steps, and submit the listed documents to the Registrar's Office.
Please only deregister from the other university, or university of applied sciences, if you've received a positive answer (the letter of admission) from the FH Aachen.
In case of a positive answer, you will get a letter of admission from the Registrar's Office, detailing the period of time for the personal registration as well as a list of all the documents you will have to bring along; normally, these are:
