When will my course of study commence?

A distinction must be made between the start of the semester and the start of lectures. The semester begins on 1 March for the summer semester and on 1 September for the winter semester. The start of lectures varies and is announced by the Registrar's Office.

A list of the Ministry's lecture times up to 2023/24 is also available on the pages of the Registrar's Office under "Fristen/Deadlines".

Preliminary courses, some of which are compulsory, are offered for first-year students and take place in March/September. Further information is available on the website of the respective faculty/degree programme and at the faculty's offices, also about the beginning of the courses.

How do I take courses and lectures?

For courses, etc. you must sign up online in the Campus Office system. You will not be signed up automatically. The Examination Office of your faculty will help you with any questions you may have about signing up for courses and examinations.
