The Freshman Program in Lebanon

The Freshman Institute is an integrated part of the FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, a public university in Germany, that offers a German foundation program (Studienkolleg) to international students who do not meet the standard admission requirements to Germany universities.

As it is extremely difficult at the moment for students to be admitted to a German Studienkolleg, the Freshman Institute created the first Studienkolleg in Lebanon.  The Lebanon Program of the Freshman Institute started in 2004 as an alternative to attending the foundation program in Germany.  Since then hundreds of Lebanese students have completed the program and been admitted to bachelor’s programs in engineering at the FH Aachen.

An entrance exam is required for this program. See the contact below for more information.

Courses include German, math, and physics, as well as an internship.

This program has the following advantages:

  • The Lebanon Program is significantly cheaper than programs in Germany
  • A blocked bank account is not required until the students start their studies in Germany
  • The Freshman Institute of the FH Aachen is responsible for the Lebanon Program

After successful completion of the Freshman program, students are guaranteed admission to one of these engineering bachelor’s programs at the FH Aachen:
Applied Chemistry
Medical Engineering
(vorher "Biomedical Engineering")
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Physical Engineering
