Central Machine Shop

The Aachen University of Applied Sciences provides an excellent training in modern and future-oriented professions. Its close cooperation with regional and international companies as well as renowned research facilities promotes the quality of our study programs. For the faculties 5, 6 and 8, the Central Machine Shop manufactures complex work pieces and devices in individual production for experimental setups and degree theses. It also works closely together with various firms in the field of prototyping.

Drilling machines, conventional lathes and milling machines, CNC lathes and milling machines and sheet metal processing machines belong to the equipment of the Central Machine Shop as well as devices for all common welding procedures.

Furthermore, the facilities of the Central Machine Shop are constantly being used for student projects, degree theses, R&D projects in cooperation with industrial partners, and for various practical trainings, whereas the latter focusses more on practice-related manufacturing issues.

The staff of the Central Machine Shop consists of:

1 Manager
2 skilled workers
8 apprentices

Every year, the Central Machine Shop employs 2 apprentices as Industrial Mechanics, specializing in precision tool making.
