Industry 4.0 Modell Factory

Industrie 4.0 Laboratory (Model Factory)

The Industrie 4.0 model factory of the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics demonstrates industrial applications and their processes. The visitors learn about modern industrial concepts and integration solutions through fully automated systems, driverless transport systems, robotics, but also by manual hands-on experience.

A particular feature of the model factory is its holistic approach to research: The visitors

  • configure and order products in the FH web shop (thus triggering a single-piece workflow in the automated production);
  • can observe their order all along its way through production;
  • and, at the end, hold their individual product in their hands.

The Industrie 4.0 model factory is used for project works and research works (in the context of doctorates) as well as an object of study for related lectures.

Equipment

The model factory consists of:

  • a robot cell with a Delta robot and state-of-the-art safety technology,
  • an automation technology demonstrator,
  • an Industrie 4.0 training plant by Lucas Nülle company,
  • two augmented reality manual workstations,
  • a cocktail machine.
  • and a driverless transport system.
