According to the BSI, an administrator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring and maintaining an IT system. Each operating system provides a profile with the corresponding rights on the system for the role of administrator.
Under Unix, this is mapped with the user 'root' and under Windows with the user 'Administrator'.
With this maximum number of rights granted at system level, the administrator also assumes sole
responsibility for the system. He is responsible for ensuring that all measures for the proper operation of the IT system
are implemented.
The IT user, on the other hand, only uses an IT system as a tool to fulfil their tasks. The rights required at system level
are set up by the administrator as required.
The administrator's system access is unsuitable for the fulfilment of an IT user's tasks!
