UniSAFE

Gender-based violence is a complex, widespread and persistent problem in many organisations, including universities and research institutes. Without comprehensive knowledge, the appropriate infrastructure and targeted measures, it is difficult to prevent, preempt or legally sanction gender-based violence.

That is why FH Aachen is taking part in UniSAFE, one of the largest surveys to date on sexual discrimination and violence at European universities and research institutions. The aim of the project is to learn more about the effects of gender-based violence in order to be able to develop appropriate prevention concepts.

In order to collect measurable data on the prevalence of gender-based violence in universities and research institutes, UniSAFE coordinates a survey among 46 participating research organisations within the EU. The results of the survey will be translated into policy recommendations and a toolbox for universities and research institutes.

UniSAFE takes into account the data sensitivity of the survey and takes all necessary measures to protect the privacy of the participating individuals and to maintain the confidentiality of the data collected. For more information, please see the FAQ on the project website.
