Gender-sensitive language

Language influences our thinking, consciousness and perception. It controls our assessment of facts, reflects and conveys our values and thus shapes our environment. By using gender-sensitive, inclusive language, we as a university can help to consider and address all people equally and thereby support discrimination-free communication.

The FH Aachen guidelines for gender-sensitive and inclusive language are intended to make it easier for you to use gender-sensitive language at the university. Concrete examples will help you to formulate in a gender-sensitive way. Since language is always changing, we will also closely monitor further developments.
