Research and development at NOWUM-Energy Institute
The aim of NOWUM's research is, in particular, the successful implementation of the energy transition.
Here we consider aspects of the entire energy system, e.g. from the optimisation of energy use in companies to energy distribution and storage through to the energy market.
We conduct research into processes for the provision of CO2-neutral energy as well as the reuse and further utilisation of residual materials and the use of biomass and residual materials. In addition to the development of technical solutions, our research focusses on economic efficiency.
Our research team works in two working groups:
Professors at the NOWUM-Energy Institute:
Prof. Dr Christian Jungbluth, Deputy Director
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Grömping
Prof. Dr rer. nat. Gereon Elbers
Prof. Dr rer. oec. Ralf Schemm
Prof. Dr Klaus Brüssermann
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Isabel Kuperjans
Martin Pieper (Dean of Faculty 10)
Working Group "Sustainable Energy Systems":
Dr Sebstian Dickler, head of the working group
Working group "Bioenergy and bioresource management"
Dr Simone Krafft, head of the working group
