International German Studies

The International German Studies programme is an offer for foreign students of German Studies who wish to continue their studies in Aachen for several semesters, improve their language skills and establish a relationship to Germany and various aspects of the German culture.

In addition to language courses, the programme participants take courses on German literary history, phonetics, translation studies and didactics in the field of German as a foreign language with accompanying teaching internships. The course programme is designed in accordance with the students' sending universities, so that study achievements made in Germany can be easily recognised by the respective home university.

The participants of the programme will be accommodated in student shared flats and begin their stay in Germany with a supervised orientation phase and intercultural training. Excursions and varied leisure activities are part of the programme, as is support with the visa procedure and group pick-up from the airport.
