Who are we and what do we do?
Main tasks
The Faculty Student Council (FSR) represents the students vis-à-vis the Dean's Office and the other bodies of the University of Applied Sciences. They are your contact for almost all possible problems that can arise in everyday student life. The Faculty Student Council ensures that good study conditions are maintained and that improvements are made to your studies. Furthermore, the FSR is involved in creating a community environment for the students. Together with our volunteers (the "Ersti-Tutor:innen"), we organise various events for students throughout the semester.
Of course, the members of the Faculty Student Council are not only there to represent the students, but are at least as easy to help on site.
We always have an open ear for students' questions, concerns, needs and suggestions!
If you have any questions or are interested in our work, just drop by the Hoh U1202 office. If you want to keep up to date with what's going on at the faculty, you are also welcome to attend our meetings.
These take place every second Tuesday at 6pm.
Help in everyday study life
We are the interface between the university of applied sciences and the students. We represent them, provide them with a suggestion box and support them in their studies. We know who you can turn to, we know who to contact and who is responsible for everything to do with everyday life at the university. Just talk to us!
Whenever you have questions about procedures and regulations, or if you're stuck with a problem in your studies, just come by or get in touch with us. We know the current rules at the faculty (or can find them out) and, above all, we know your rights as a student. So far, we have found a good solution for most difficulties :)
Teaching Resources Unit
Through our teaching materials department (LMR), we have a range of writing, drawing and learning materials that has proven itself in the studies at FB6; from college notebooks and pens to calculators and technical drawing sets. We are also happy to accept new suggestions in order to adapt the LMR range to current wishes.
Representation
The members of FSR 6 are elected annually. They are made up of Bachelor's and Master's students from all degree programmes at FB 6. The members come from the most diverse study progressions and can thus represent the interests of the students in a very diverse way.
The FSR sends its members or has consultants for the university's political institutions, such as the Dean's Office (the deciding body of FB6), the AStA, the Faculty Council (the controlling body of FB6) and appointment committees for new lecturers. This makes it possible for ideas and problems related to everyday student life to be quickly brought "upstairs" for discussion.
We are also in good contact with the liaison lecturer and the programme coordination and can thus quickly solve structural or organisational problems.
Events and functions
Last but not least, our tasks include organising and running events, parties and others to offer students fun and sociability. To this end, we are in close contact with our neighbours from Faculty 8, with whom we are always planning joint activities to break away from learning here and there.
Together with our tutors, we organise the Freshers' Week, the Christmas market of the student bodies (Fachschaft), the summer party and other events in between.
Would you like to take part in one of these events? No problem, just let us know!
