On this page we explain everything you need to know about registering for courses and lectures and attending them. In addition, you will find out below why you have to register for all courses and which modules are restricted.

University account

The university account is the user account for central, restricted-access services at FH Aachen. To take part in courses and lectures held during the semester, you must register for them. To register, you must first activate your university account. You will receive your login details from the Registrar's Office after registration. Once your account has been activated, it may take around 24 hours before you can use your university account and your university email address.

The university account is used for authentication when logging on to the university’s computer workstations, email and Wi-Fi. You will also need this account to register for bridging courses or semester-long modules.

HISinOne (H1)

All courses and lectures in the Faculty of Business Studies require registration due to room allocation and access to information. Registration is carried out via the HISinOne (H1) system. Please feel free to take a look at our guide

H1 is available for the following:

Timetable planning

  • Planning and managing your own studies
  • Enrolment in courses and lectures specified in the Examination Regulations for your degree programme
  • Creating your personal timetable

Exams & marks

  • Registration for examinations
  • Withdrawing from examinations (up to one week before the start of the examination)
  • Viewing final module marks
  • Generating a transcript of marks

Administrative matters

  • Changing your postal address
  • Printing a parking permit

 

Information on participant restrictions and registration procedures

I. Restrictions on participation

To ensure sustainable learning outcomes, enrolment in certain courses and lectures must unfortunately be restricted in accordance with Section 59 of the Higher Education Act (HFG). The implementation of these enrolment restrictions is governed by the Admission Regulations. This applies to all courses listed here for the 2026/27 winter semester.

Allocation procedure

All places in the following modules are allocated according to an allocation procedure. This means that places are allocated according to the time of registration.

Lottery

All places on the following modules will be allocated by a lottery. This means that all students can register from 1 September 2026, 10.00, until 13 September 2026, 11.59 pm, and after that the lottery will determine who is awarded ‘Participant’ status and is therefore permitted to take part in the specialisation. In total, you may register for up to five specialisations with limited places.
