Student Representative Council and FAQ
FSR8
The Student Council consists of elected and volunteer students from various degree programs within Department 8. We advocate for the opinions, wishes, and concerns of our students. Since our members are in a wide range of semesters, we are able to cover a broad spectrum of interests. While our focus is on academic matters, we are also always available to address interpersonal issues and concerns through our dedicated support center.
Thanks to our consistently good relationship with the faculty and their support, we are able to play an active role in shaping campus life. To add some variety to everyday student life and foster networking among the student body, we regularly organize joint events such as the courtyard barbecue and the summer festival on Goethestraße.
To offer new students the best possible start to their studies with wonderful memories, we also organize Freshman Week, as well as the Freshman Trip that follows. Since this always requires a team of tutors, anyone who would like to experience Freshman Week and the trip from the other side is welcome to contact us.
All students are always welcome in our office (U1222). Anyone who would like to get a glimpse into the day-to-day work of the Student Council is cordially invited to attend our meetings. Feel free to just drop by unannounced.
Tone of the meeting
We meet on Mondays at 5.30 pm, every other week (in odd-numbered calendar weeks), usually in the large meeting room Goe 00211. You can also find the latest information on Instagram.
During exam periods and the lecture-free period, no meetings will take place unless otherwise announced. The meetings are open to the public, so you’re all very welcome, whether you’d like to get involved or are simply interested in what’s going on in the faculty at the moment.
