Girls' Day in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics at FH Aachen

If you would like to take part, you can apply on the official Girls' Day page under the keyword "FH Aachen".
If you have any questions about Girls' Day in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, please contact Mr Sander (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, phone +49.241.6009 52411).

As part of Girls' Day 2026, our faculties are offering a total of 32 places across four projects:

  1. 3D printed key rings - from idea to prototype
In this workshop, you will learn how to use 3D modelling software and create your own digital 3D object. We will then show you how the 3D printing process works and how you can print the object you have created using a 3D printer.
    Age: 5th grade and up

  2. "Let the AI fly: Become the pilot of your own multicopter! "
Are you ready to explore the future? In this workshop, you will become the pilot of a multicopter. Manoeuvre the multicopter via an app and write your own program to control it. Use AI-supported object recognition to recognise people, fruit and much more to make your multicopter fly tricks.
    Age: 6th grade and up

  3. "Solitaire - From the steel plate to the finished game"
In the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, you have the chance to make the famous Solitaire plug-in game yourself. Embedded in a great programme, you will learn everything about the machines needed to make such a game in the workshop and process the material for your game yourself.
    Age: 5th grade and up

  4. Design your own 3D-printed candy dispenser
We will create and edit the 3D model to your liking on the computer and then assemble the printed parts. Discover how your idea can be turned into a real object on the computer - to take away and, of course, to fill.
    Age: 5th grade and up
