Medical and Molecular Biology Laboratory
The Medical & Molecular Biology laboratory headed by Prof Artmann is very active in both teaching and research. In addition to the projects presented on the homepage, this also includes in-vitro and in-vivo drug studies (second phase studies, in particular sepsis, hyperlipaemia, etc.).
Our laboratories are located in rooms 01E20 to 01E25, with access via room 01E20/21.
Our laboratory is active in the following areas:
- Sepsis and blood cell research
- Haemorheology, blood cell membrane mechanics
- Oxidative stress and free radicals
- Skin models, 3D collagen gel and cell movement-cell migration
- Cell-tissue mechanics
- Microcirculation and endothelial permeability
- Clinical and preclinical studies:
- Hypercholesterolaemia and arteriosclerosis
- Glaucoma
- Diabetes Mellitus
- In vitro models of various diseases
- Regenerative medicine
- Drug screening
