Medical Physics Laboratory
Our Medical Physics laboratory, headed by Prof Dr Karl Ziemons, is divided into two specialist areas: Medical Physics and Medical Metrology.
Our scientific activities are focussed on
- Systems and procedures of clinical and preclinical diagnostic imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI, PET) their application in therapeutic methods,
- Functional diagnostics (ECG, EEG, EMG, spirometry, impedance tomography),
- Further development of image reconstruction methods (2D and 3D) for the above-mentioned procedures,
- Development of new detector systems for scintigraphy,
- new body coils for MRI,
- metrological acquisition and processing of bioelectrical signals.
In all these areas, we work together with our partners at the university on site and around the world on an interdisciplinary basis, both in research and in teaching.
70 Jahre CERN - und wir sind dabei!
CERN
Die Europäische Organisation für Kernforschung (CERN) feiert ihr 70-jähriges Bestehen. Stattfinden wird dazu eine Veranstaltung am 16. September 2024 in der Aachen Münchner Halle im Hauptgebäude der RWTH Aachen.
Auch unser Labor Medizinische Physik ist vor Ort mit einer kleinen Ausstellung zum Thema "Anwendung der Positronen-Emissions-Tompgraie (PET)". Hierzu sind alle herzlich gerne eingeladen.
