nach VereinbarungStudy programme directors
A programme director is usually responsible for a specific degree programme and represents this programme internally and, if necessary, externally. In the case of different degree programme variants or where two degree programmes are thematically very close, a programme director may also be responsible for several degree programmes.
Each programme directorate consists of at least two full-time professors from the faculty, who decide who will take on the role of official programme director and who will take on the role of deputy director. They may also decide to appoint additional members from the ranks of students and (Research) Assistants.
The tasks of the programme director (see also Part C of the FH Aachen Evaluation and Accreditation Regulations) are
- Participation in the process of programme-related quality development, including
- Planning and implementation of quality improvement measures,
- Cooperation with the faculty's evaluation commission and other employees in the area of quality development in teaching and learning,
- Initiating and organising the "Curriculum Workshop" in coordination with the ZHQ,
- Participation in the quality dialogue between the faculties and the Rectorate;
- Coordination of assignment and room planning for the degree programme;
- Coordination of the module coordinators;
- Ensuring that the module handbook is up to date;
- Coordination and collaboration in accreditation procedures;
- Realisation and implementation of change requirements in coordination with the Dean's Office
All degree programme directors meet together at least once per semester to ensure initial cross-degree programme planning for the following semesters together with the Dean's Office or the Dean of Students and, if necessary, to discuss further topics in the context of planning and quality development of the degree programmes.
