The central scientific institutions offer cross-faculty services in the areas of research, teaching and studies. Accordingly, they carry out important joint tasks for the entire university and are of strategic significance.

They are each assigned to members of the Rectorate.

The University Administration of the FH Aachen is organised as a Central Administration with six Divisions.
