FH Aachen Central Administration

The central administration of FH Aachen is made up of six divisions with several sections. It fulfils the administrative, planning and legal tasks of the university and ensures that university operations run smoothly. Central administration always works towards an economic appropriation of budgetary funds and an economic use of the university's facilities.

The Chancellor is head of the central administration.

The interest groups and representatives of the FH Aachen stand up for the interests of all employees. These include the Staff Council for Technical and Administrative Employees, the Staff Council for Scientific and Artistic Employees, the Equal Opportunity Officer, the Family Office and the Disabled Persons' Representative.

The central operating units at FH Aachen cover important services, especially in the areas of media, information and communication management and technology. These include the Data Processing Centre (DVZ) and the Library.

The central academic institutions of FH Aachen support the university across all departments with services for teaching and research. The central academic institutions include the Centre for Higher Education Didactics and Quality Development in Teaching and Learning (ZHQ) and the Freshman Program (preparatory college).

The Rectorate of FH Aachen consists of the Rector, four Prorectors and the Chancellor. With the exception of the Chancellor, the members of the Rectorate are elected for six years. The Chancellor's term of office is eight years.
