Legal Advisor's Office
The Legal Advisory Office is primarily responsible for the following areas:
- Providing legal advice to the university management and university bodies
- Litigation and legal representation
- Contractual matters, including national and international cooperation agreements
- Advising and representing Examination Boards
- Assisting in the drafting of university regulations and statutes

As part of a joint project with juris GmbH, the Federal Ministry of Justice makes almost the entire body of current federal law available online free of charge to interested members of the public.

The provisions of the Residence Act apply to the residence of foreign nationals in Germany, including foreign students, trainees, doctoral candidates and staff working in the higher education sector. The text of the Act can be found here:
