Chancellor
As Chancellor, Volker Stempel is a member of the Rectorate and the superior of the technical and administrative staff. He is head of the university administration and budget officer. He represents the Rector in legal and administrative matters.
His areas of responsibility include the Divisions:
- Personnel
- Student and Academic Affairs
- Finances
- Facility Management
- Transfer of Innovation
- University planning and management

- Compliance
- Employer's representative for severely disabled employees
Volker Stempel is a member of the extended speakers' committee of the NRW Chancellors' Conference and Chairman of the Construction Working Group.
He was first appointed Chancellor of FH Aachen - University of Applied Sciences in 2012 and was re-elected for a further 8-year term in 2019.
