Welcome to the online application portal to the Freshman Program.

All applicants must take the entrance exam or TestAS in order to be considered for the Freshman Program. You can apply to the Freshman Program and register for an entrance exam below. 

Prepare yourself well! Here you can practice with sample exams, learn more about requirements for the online exams and see exam dates.

If you were not admitted to the Freshman Program after your first attempt, you may try two more times. All applicants have three attempts for admission and, therefore, may take the entrance exam or submit TestAS certificates a maximum of three times.

The Freshman Program is for students who are between the ages of 17 and 22 on 1 October of the Freshman Program and who have completed high school but as a general rule have not yet attended university.

All online seminars are live and in English. Other languages are available upon request.

The last online entrance exam for the Freshman Program 2026/2027 is on 2 July 2026. The registration deadline for this exam is 11 June 2026.  
More exams will be offered starting in November 2026 for the Freshman Program 2027/2028.

Prepare your documents!

Required Documents*

  1. Passport, ID card or birth certificate (preferably in English or German) (pdf only)
  2. Photo (png or jpg only)
  3. Most recent school certificate or interim certificate (pdf only)
  4. Transcript from the past two years of school (pdf only)

 

Missing Documents:
Is one of your required documents not yet available?
Fill out the following form and upload it for each of your missing documents. (Save it first, then open).

Optional Documents:

  1. TestAS (pdf only)
  2. German language certificate (pdf only)
  3. English language certificate (pdf only)
  4. Other relevant certificates (pdf only)

Please note:

  • Upload only the document that is required in each box in the application form.
  • Upload each document only once.
  • Please do not upload all your documents in all boxes, only the required in the corresponding boxes.
  • Documents may be up to 2 MB, but smaller documents are preferred.  Uploading large documents may be very slow, depending upon your internet speed.
