Electrical Engineering – Energy Engineering B.Eng.
Of the many specialist areas within electrical engineering, our students on the ‘Electrical Engineering – Energy Technology’ Bachelor's degree programme are trained in electrical energy technology. Electrical power engineering deals with the generation, distribution and conversion of electrical energy. For the energy transition to succeed, we need smart, globally-minded specialists who are also engaged with issues of sustainability.
Alongside these traditional areas of focus in electrical power engineering, you will gain an understanding of the electrical equipment used in power stations, photovoltaic and wind power plants, as well as how they interact within the interconnected grid – both in theory and in practice. This takes place within international teams throughout your degree programme.
You will benefit from our close collaboration with the Jülich Research Centre (FSZ) and the Solar Institute Jülich (SIJ) at FH Aachen, which has been operating a solar thermal demonstration and test power station since 2009, thereby setting a milestone in renewable energy generation.
If, after obtaining your Bachelor of Engineering degree, you’re still electrified by the subject, continue your studies on a Master's degree programme. In the Faculty of Energy Technology, we offer Master's degree programmes in Energy Systems and Energy Economics and Informatics.
