Programme Content
Throughout the six-semester “Electrical Engineering – Energy Technology” degree programme, the focus is on practical training. Lectures and tutorials are largely complemented by practical trainings, which you will undertake in well-equipped, modern laboratories. This applies to measurement, control and regulation technology as well as to electric drive systems, automation, electrical power generation and distribution, and high-voltage technology.
During the first three semesters, you will learn fundamental mathematical, physical and electrical engineering theories and methodological approaches. In line with our international focus, you will have the opportunity to learn the technical terminology in either German or English.
As the programme progresses, you will become familiar with classic electrical engineering systems and learn to apply technical methods in an engineering context. Furthermore, modules such as International Management and Cross-Cultural Behaviour will prepare you for the international job market. Throughout the semesters, our laboratory modules involve practical project work carried out in international teams with the support of lecturers and staff.
Read more in the ‘Programme Variants’ section about our 7-semester variants ‘Electrical Engineering – Energy Technology with Mobility Semester’ and ‘Electrical Engineering – Sustainable Energy Systems’.
Are you interested in the modules you’ll be studying? Then please take a look at the study schedule in the current ‘Electrical Engineering’ Examination Regulations.
NEW: All programme variants are open to our (future) international students. Please remember to submit proof of your German language skills. You can find information on this on the application pages and in the ‘Electrical Engineering’ Examination Regulations, Section 13: German language skills.
