Erasmus+
Erasmus+ offers financial support to students who wish to complete an internship in a European country. Grants are available for travelling expenses as well as for living costs during the internship.

HAW.International
The aim of the programme is to support students from universities of applied sciences in carrying out internships abroad. Funding is provided for internships in the private and public sector in two programme tracks:
Internship track A
Applications with full-time internships obtained on your own initiative.
Internship track B
You can apply for up to two advertised internship opportunities.

DAAD travel grants for internships abroad
The grant for travel expenses is a one-off payment. The amount of funding depends on your destination country. Only students who have been placed for a specialist internship outside Europe via the organisation IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) are eligible to apply.

DAAD
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is one of the largest funding organisations for the international exchange of students and academics. It offers comprehensive information on opportunities for study, practical and research stays abroad and awards a large number of scholarships. You can find these and scholarship programmes from other organisations in the DAAD scholarship database.
RISE worldwide - international research internships
The programme is aimed at Bachelor's students who would like to gain valuable practical experience during the summer semester break. The internships last between one and a half and three months and are offered by researchers from accredited university institutes and research organisations worldwide. The working language is usually English. The DAAD supports you by organising internships and providing a scholarship to make it easier for you to access these exciting opportunities.

Foreign BAföG
Financial support is also available for students who complete their compulsory internship abroad. For this, the internship must last at least twelve weeks if it is completed outside the EU.
The higher funding rates for a stay abroad mean that students who do not receive funding at home are also entitled to BAföG.

Fulbright Germany offers various scholarships for a research or teaching stay in the USA.

Study Foundation
The Studienstiftung offers a number of open scholarship programmes, also in cooperation with external partners, for which you can usually also apply if you have not previously been funded by the Studienstiftung.

IAESTE internships abroad
IAESTE, International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience, is an international organisation that arranges paid practical training abroad for science and engineering students. Students receive comprehensive counselling and support from local committees both in their home country and in the destination country. The practical trainings usually last two to three months and take place mainly in the summer.
