Head of Department - Dean's Office
The Dean heads the faculties and represents them within the university. In the Faculty of Medical Engineering and Technomathematics, these tasks are carried out by a Dean's Office. The Dean's Office consists of five members. It consists of the Dean, two Vice Deans from the group of professors, one Vice Dean from the group of academic staff and one Vice Dean from the group of students.
Faculty Council
The Faculty Council is responsible for passing resolutions on matters relating to the faculties for which the Dean or another authority has not been designated. In this respect, it is responsible for all matters relating to research, teaching, artistic development projects and the practice of art and for passing resolutions on the faculty regulations and other regulations for the faculty.
The Faculty Council consists of the following voting members
- seven representatives of the group of university lecturers
- two representatives of the academic staff group
- one representative of the group of other employees
- three representatives from the group of students
The members of the Dean's Office are non-voting members of the Faculty Council. They have the right to propose motions and speak.

Safety officer
The duties of a safety officer are derived from §22 SGB VII. This stipulates that the safety officer is to support persons with entrepreneurial responsibility in an advisory capacity in all matters relating to occupational safety, laboratory safety and laboratory management. The safety officer is appointed for this purpose within the university by the Dean and/or Rector and holds this office in honour.

Study Advisory Board
The Academic Advisory Board advises the Faculty Council and the Dean in particular on matters of study reform, the evaluation of study programmes and teaching as well as the enactment and amendment of Examination Regulations.
It consists of
- the Chairperson of the Examination Board or the person appointed in accordance with Section 26 (2) sentence 4 HG as Chairperson,
- three student representatives
- a further representative from the group of university lecturers,
- one representative of the academic staff, insofar as they take on teaching duties.
The term of office corresponds to the term of office of the Faculty Council.

Evaluation committee
The Evaluation Commission is set up as an independent body. It performs the following ongoing tasks on behalf of the Dean's Office and in close cooperation with the programme directors or programme development committees:
- Carrying out the procedures for the evaluation of
- courses and lectures (EvaOrdnung, Part A § 4.1)
- Faculties and degree programmes (EvaOrdnung, Part A § 4.2)
- Review, reflection and assessment of the respective results
- Recommendation of measures for quality assurance and development
- Review and evaluation of the implementation of adopted measures
- Development of the self-report in accordance with § 4.2
- Preparation of the departmental contributions to the work of the Central Evaluation Commission.
It meets at least once per semester to fulfil these tasks (cf. Eva regulations, Part A, § 5.3).
The Evaluation Commission is made up of a member of the Dean's Office (Dean or Vice Dean), at least two other university lecturers, at least one Research Assistant and at least one student of full age. A representative of the ZHQ may also serve in an advisory capacity. The members of the evaluation committee are elected by their respective status group from the Faculty Council.

Quality Improvement Commission
In order to improve the quality of teaching and studies, the faculty forms a Quality Improvement Commission in accordance with Section 4 (3) of the Study Quality Act.
The Quality Improvement Commission consists of

- three voting representatives of the student group
The term of office of the commission members ends at the end of the term of office of the current Faculty Council.
