Deregistration
De-registration is carried out by the Registrar's Office of FH Aachen:
- after receiving the certificate of successful completion of the degree program at the end of the current semester,
- if you have conclusively failed an examination required by the examination regulations,
- if you have not re-registered by the deadline,
- if you have applied for deregistration.
If you no longer wish to continue your studies, you can deregister upon application to the Registrar's Office.
The quickest way to do this is to apply online in the FH Aachen Portal (Home > My Course of Study > Student Services > Applications > Deregistration).
From there, you will have the option of deregistering at the end of the semester or with today's date.
After your application has been processed, you can download your certificate of deregistration from the FH Aachen Portal in the section Certificates. It will also be sent to you by email.
If you have received a 2FA hardware token from the DVZ to use the online services of FH Aachen, you must return it to the DVZ upon de-registration!
Refund of the Semester Fee
If you deregister before the official start of the lecture period set by the Ministry of Culture and Science, you will receive a full refund of the semester fee.I To do so, submit the application for reimbursement of the semester fee online via the Student Services in the FH Aachen Portal.
If you deregister after the official start of the lecture period set by the Ministry of Culture and Science, the costs for the semester ticket can, in some circumstances, be refunded to you on a pro-rata basis. The AStA of FH Aachen is in charge of this. You can find a short description of the procedure and the corresponding application on the AStA homepage.
