Applicants for a Dual Study Programme
My Path to Dual Studies
You would like to take up dual studies at FH Aachen? In addition to your university entrance qualification, you will need a training place or a job at a partner company of FH Aachen.
The training within the scope of a dual study programme corresponds to the normal training, runs according to the respective framework curriculum of the training occupation and also ends with the training examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Aachen or the Chamber of Crafts Aachen.
If you would like to study within the framework of a practice-integrating dual study programme, you do not need a training place, but a job where you can go through a practical activity in a company as part of your studies. The activity should be closely linked to the contents of the study programme so that you can also use the theory from the study programme in practice.
We will be happy to help you find a training place or a job. It is best to first look at the list of our cooperation partners. Perhaps you will already find a company this way. Otherwise, you should also take a look at the vacant training places page. Our cooperation partners advertise vacant training positions or jobs there.
If you are unsuccessful through these channels, you are also welcome to contact us. We will then try to help you on your way to dual studies.
What Are the Steps Required?
In the first step, you conclude a training or employment contract with your future employer. This is the training contract of the competent Chamber of Industry and Commerce or Chamber of Trade or, in the case of the practice-integrated variant, an employment contract.
In the second step, you formally apply for a place at university at the FH Aachen. You register via the online application portal of the FH and upload your training or employment contract as a PDF file.
The third step is the postal registration at the FH Aachen.
For this purpose, the following documents have to be sent to the Registrar's Office of the FH Aachen (Bayernallee 11, 52066 Aachen or Heinrich-Mußmann-Str.1, 52428 Jülich for dual study programmes at the Campus Jülich):
- Training or employment contract
- University entrance qualification
- Proof of health insurance cover
- Proof of payment of the social contribution and student activity fee
Registration for all dual study programmes normally takes place in the winter semester. The only exception is the dual study programme Business Studies Praxis PLuS, for which registration only takes place in the summer semester.
The company may also have to register with a special vocational school. We will send you information on this on request.
