Admission requirements for the Master's degree programme in Architecture
In addition to the general admission requirements, you must also pass an aptitude test for the Master's degree programme in Architecture. Registration is required for participation. This is done via an online form, which you should fill out and upload with your portfolio and a short letter of motivation. You may be invited by email to a personal interview on 10 June 2024 in the Faculty of Architecture. After completing the aptitude test procedure, the result will be sent to you by post by the end of June 2024. If you receive a positive decision and meet the general admission requirements, you can then register for the Master's degree programme in Architecture via the applicant portal by 31.08.2024.

Registration for the 2024 aptitude test
Would you like to study architecture on our Master's degree programme in Architecture at FH Aachen in the coming winter semester 2024/25? Then we would like to get to know you and look forward to receiving your application for the aptitude procedure.
The prerequisite for this is a first professionally qualifying university degree of 180 ECTS (or equivalent) in the subject area of architecture with a minimum grade of 2.5 or equivalent. For details, please refer to the Admission Regulations in the "Information material" section.
Registration for the aptitude test begins on 15.04.2024 and ends on 31.05.2024. The application form for submitting your documents will be available here from 15.04.2024.
Please enter your personal data in the online form and upload the portfolio you have compiled, your Bachelor's certificate or a certificate of achievement showing your current level of performance and your letter of motivation in one PDF file each. For internal applicants of FH Aachen, a printout of the transcript of records from QIS is sufficient if the Bachelor's certificate is not yet available.

Open Day | Architecture Festival
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit our faculties on our Open Day, which will take place on 2 May 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Here you can get to know our faculties. The Architecture Festival, combined with the faculty's annual exhibition, is also a good opportunity to gain an insight. The next festival will take place on 2 October 2024.
Portfolio | Letter of motivation
The portfolio should contain your previous architecture-related work (min. 10 pages, DIN A4 landscape). This means that both coursework and projects from practical activities can be included.
The letter of motivation should include a description of why you would like to take up a further degree programme in architecture as well as information on any career-oriented activities in the field of architecture.
Every applicant will receive a confirmation email after submitting their application. Please ensure that you upload all documents in full. Incomplete application documents will lead to the exclusion of the applicant.

Das Motivationsschreiben soll basierend auf Ihrem persönlichen Werdegang beschreiben, welche Position innerhalb des Berufsfeldes Architektur Sie einnehmen möchten, welche prägenden Momente Ihrer Ausbildung zu dieser Positionierung beigetragen haben und was Sie in diesem Zusammenhang innerhalb des Masterstudiums bei uns erreichen wollen. (1 Seite DIN A4)
Jede:r Bewerber:in erhält nach Einreichung der Bewerbung nach 1-2 Werktagen eine Bestätigung per Email. Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass Sie alle Unterlagen vollständig hochladen. Unvollständige Bewerbungsunterlagen führen zum Ausschluss der Bewerberin oder des Bewerbers.
