+++ The first introductory lecture for the preliminary course and the Bachelor's degree programme in Medical Engineering will take place on Monday, 1 September, at 8:30 a.m. in lecture hall 00A01 in the round library building on the Jülich campus. Registration is not required and all freshers are cordially invited to attend.
Pre-course maths
Before starting their studies, all freshers on the Bachelor's degree programme in Medical Engineering are offered a preliminary course in mathematics. Participation is voluntary, but strongly recommended. The aim of the course is to brush up on the basics of maths, gain confidence in arithmetic and make it easier to start your studies. A solid foundation in maths pays off in all technical subjects. Passing the pre-course test also allows you to collect bonus points for the "Maths 1" module in the first semester.
The preliminary maths course in the winter semester 2025/26 will take place daily from 1 to 12 September 2025 in lecture hall 00A01 (or 00R13) in the library building ('Rundling') on the Jülich campus. Online participation is also possible. After registration, you will receive your ILIAS access data with which you can join the course. There you will find all current information, materials, online participation link and the forum for your questions. Please check this ILIAS forum regularly.
Further information, impressions and contents of the pre-course can be found in the invitation below. In it you will find personal words from the tutors, re-registrations from previous participants, photos from previous years and the current timetable.
The GPT start of studies guide is available as an additional service from the pre-course team. A helpful point of contact when quick answers are needed. Whether about the course content, Examination Regulations or other topics relating to the start of your studies. Please note, however, that this offer is a voluntary additional service whose availability cannot be guaranteed. The answers should always be checked critically before you accept them.
