Required Language Skills

English

The following minimum scores are required:
- 68 points on a TOEFL examination conducted via the Internet (Internet based Test [IbT]).
- 5.5 Overall band-score in an IELTS examination (Academic Test).

English language skills can also be demonstrated by submitting equivalent proof. The admission committee decides on the equivalence. In exceptional cases, applicants from a country of the European Union can submit proof of English language skills at a later date, but no later than at the time of registration with the Registrar's Office.

For applicants who have acquired their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking school, a school grade in English of at least "satisfactory" (befriedigend) in the university entrance qualification certificate will be recognised instead of the above-mentioned proof.

For the Nuclear Applications degree programme, you must provide proof of German language skills.

Applicants whose native language is not German or who have not acquired their study qualification in a predominantly German-language degree programme must prove German language skills at the level "Deutsch B1" or equivalent.
