Study orientation during the holidays
Are you about to finish school and would like to think about your future after school - but don't have the time or peace and quiet to do so during the stressful school day?
Then use the autumn and Easter holidays to find out more at your leisure! The General Academic Counselling of FH Aachen and the Central Student Advisory Service of RWTH Aachen University offer you various information events on the topic of study orientation during this time.

A case for two student counselling services - FH meets RWTH
What is the difference between studying at a university of applied sciences and at a university? What degree programmes do FH Aachen and RWTH Aachen University offer? And where do you actually fit in better - at a university of applied sciences or a university?
If you are still unsure about your choice of degree programme and are looking for answers to these questions, you've come to the right place. In this format, the General Academic Counselling of FH Aachen and the Central Student Advisory Service of RWTH Aachen University will give you a joint overview of both types of university - and help you to find out which path suits you best.

Long evening of student counselling
Are you interested in a degree programme, but are still unsure...
...which degree programme is the right one for you or how a degree programme works?
...what study content is included in a degree programme and what suits your interests?
...how you can submit an application and whether you meet the requirements?
On the Long Evening of Student Counselling, the General Academic Counselling of FH Aachen opens its doors and advises on the topics of study orientation, study choice and preparation, study content and admission requirements. Of course, we also provide advice on problems with study progress, doubts about studying or considerations about changing university or degree programme.
Dates and registration
The next Long Evening of Student Counselling will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During one-on-one consultations, we will take the time to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your studies. The session will be held as a walk-in consultation without the need for a prior appointment. Our counseling offices are located at Eupener Straße 70, 52066 Aachen, in rooms C205 and C206.
The other universities in NRW also take part in the Long Evening of Student Counselling. You can find the offers at the other universities on the website Studienorientierung NRW.
Offers during the study orientation weeks
You don't yet know exactly what you want to study or have questions about studying at FH Aachen? You'll get answers during the study orientation weeks!
You can look forward to various information presentations about studying, our big university information days and an open evening consultation hour - ideal if you don't have time during the day. Drop in, listen, ask questions - we look forward to hearing from you!
The Study Orientation Weeks 2026 took place from 12 January to 9 February. In 2027, they will take place from 18 January to 16 February. We will publish our programme here at the end of 2026.
I am a student - Ask me Anything!
Do you have questions about studying, choosing a degree programme or campus life? Then just ask! Students from various degree programmes will give you a direct insight into their everyday life and answer everything - from "What is the degree programme really like?" to "Which dining hall (Mensa) is the best?" and "Where is the most pleasant place to study?" - Honest, uncomplicated and at eye level!
The offer is organised by the talent scouting team at FH Aachen.
