BioProcess Engineering and Downstream Processing
The BioProcess Engineering and Downstream Processing group develops scalable and robust biotechnological processes to support the transition toward a fossil-free economy.
Our research focuses on the sustainable utilization of lignocellulosic biomass, agricultural residues, and microbial production systems. We aim to create value-added products such as biofuels, green hydrogen, biodegradable materials, and platform chemicals.
From biomass pretreatment and fermentation to product recovery and purification, we cover the entire bioprocess development chain within our laboratories. Our infrastructure enables both fundamental research and process scale-up to pilot level.
We invite academic and industrial partners to explore our expertise and research infrastructure. Collaborative projects and technology partnerships are welcome.
