Theses and Internships

We are continuously looking for motivated students to join our academic and industry-driven research projects as part of a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis. Our lab offers exciting opportunities for hands-on training in cutting-edge bioprocess engineering, green chemistry, and downstream processing.

You will be integrated into an active research environment and contribute to real innovation in the bioeconomy and sustainability sectors. Together with our team of PhD candidates, research engineers, and fellow thesis students, you will quickly acquire methodological skills and independently work on a subproject tailored to your interests and academic background.

As an interdisciplinary research group, we offer topics across a wide range of fields, including:

• Microbiology & enzyme technology
• Bioreactor design & process control
• Pretreatment & conversion of renewable resources
• Analytical chemistry (e.g., HPLC, spectroscopy, DSC)
• Separation processes & product recovery
• Digital process development and simulation

Our infrastructure includes a broad set of modern instruments and specialized equipment, allowing for customized projects from early-stage screening to pilot-scale trials.
