Young Researchers Academy

The aim of the Young Researchers Academy (YRA) is to build a scientific community amongst young MedTech researchers, namely bachelor, master, and doctoral students of all types of universities (Universities & Universities of Applied Sciences) in NRW.

Thus the YRA offers a symposium - YRA MedTech Symposium - (free of charge) to provide an open platform for bachelor, master, and doctoral students to present either their research or their final thesis in the realm of (bio-)medical engineering or in related fields such as e.g. (non-exhaustive):

  • Biomechanics, Implants, Biofluidmechanics, Microfluidics, ...
  • Bioinformatics, Telemedicine, AAL, Hospital Engineering, ...
  • Bioelectromagnetics, Bioelectronics, Biophysics, Medical Physics, ...
  • Medical Imaging, Biosensors, Lab-on-a-Chip...
  • Numerical Modeling, HPC, Multi-Scale Approaches, ...
  • Implementing of Medical Device Regulations

Call for the 5th YRA MedTech Symposium in September 2026

Ph.D., Master, and Bachelor students of all kinds of universities in NRW, working in areas related to (bio)medical engineering, are kindly invited to present their research or their thesis at the 5th YRA MedTech Symposium in 2026.

Submission of the presentation
Please send your presentation until July 10, 2026 to: yrafh-aachen.de or hand in a usb-stick with the presentation at the symposium registration.

Duration
The contribution may last around 20 minutes (15 min presentation and 5 min discussion).
