Savita Kendre, Master Mechatronics

In September 2018, I started with my masters studies in mechatronics at FH Aachen. After spending 3 years in the industry in India and
starting with masters in Germany, I was equally excited and nervous. However, the course in the first semester covered fundamentals and later included advanced topics. The curriculum is designed with real-time industry focus, hands on projects and lab lectures. It helped me a lot to get the understanding of the subject and apply on industry based projects. The professors were always very attentive, supportive and knowledgeable.

Studying in Aachen gave a wider cultural exposure. After the three amazing semesters at the university, it was very easy to get different positions in industries for my internship and master thesis. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in the Robotic Materials Group in the Department of Robotics Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the United States. My doctoral studies focus on the integration of intelligence including sensing, actuation, and control mechanisms into elastomeric composites, taking inspiration from biological organisms.

I am very proud of the education that I received at FH Aachen which has played a key role in being able to work on advanced engineering topics and pursue PhD.
