Practical semester, semester abroad or project semester

In various degree programmes, you have the opportunity to integrate an additional practical semester, semester abroad or project semester into your study progress. This comprises 30 credit points and therefore corresponds to an additional semester in the study schedule. This page provides you with an overview of the organisational procedures, the individual types of semesters and the respective requirements and options in the various degree programmes.

Organisational matters

To undertake a work placement, study abroad or project semester, there are a few basic steps to follow:
> Transfer to the relevant degree programme: Business Administration/Business Studies with a mobility semester, Business Law with a practical semester, or Global Business and Economics with an elective semester (during the re-enrolment period)
>; proof of at least 80 credit points in the core studies
; registration for the semester via the Examination Office. To do this, submit the application (German) / application (English) to the Examination Office. You will then receive official approval. Depending on the option chosen, additional requirements may need to be met.
