Even before the actual start of studies on a Bachelor's degree programme, we offer you support services. These include our bridging courses, the information event "About to start (info-session)" and information on the recognition of Business English, which we explain in more detail below.

Preparatory courses

Registration is required for participation in preparatory courses. You can find out how to register for courses here.

The preparatory courses are offered several times, each with the same content. Here you will find all the important information and tips for your start of studies. You will find out how to set up your timetable, which deadline regulations you have to take into account during your studies and whether there are any special first-semester deadlines to consider.

In addition, you will receive tips on how to plan your first semester, the best things to consider, which communication channels to use and how to get off to a good start in your first semester. This is an event you should not miss and the Academic Counsellin Service looks forward to seeing you.

In case there are two dates for one degree programme, you can choose which one to attend. Both dates will discuss the same topics.

Information about recognition of Business English

The Examinations Office recognises achievements made in Business English at a vocational school for business and administration as academic achievements if the following conditions are proven by a certificate or a certificate from the vocational school:

  1. It must be clearly recognisable that the achievement is in Business English.
  2. The level of competence achieved according to the European Competence Framework for Languages must be shown and must be at least at level B1 and/or B2 and/or C1 (for the degree programme in Business Administration/Business Studies) or at level C1 (for the degree programme in International Business Studies 3-year - English-language programme) or at level B1 (for the degree programme in Business Law) or at level C1 (for the degree programme Global Business and Economics).

     3. A grade must have been awarded.

     4. The certificate must not be older than two years at the time of recognition.

Further achievements from vocational training are not credited towards academic achievements.
