Cell Culture Technology
Cell culture is the cultivation of animal or plant cells in a nutrient medium outside the organism.
We deal with the cultivation of animal cells in T-flasks, spinner cultures, shake flasks and laboratory fermenters (batch, fed-batch, chemostat, perfusion). Adherent CHO cells and suspension hybridoma cells are used in teaching. Cytotoxicity tests, proof of antibodies by ELISA and the analysis of important media components (glucose, glutamine) are also carried out in the practical training.
